Nope! We will start right from the beginning, so even if you're new to reading music, you can take this workshop. That said, if you know the basics of identifying notes inside the staff, you may find the first week or two a slightly gentler ramp up.
This workshop is well suited to beginning and intermediate harpists. We will mostly focus on short exercises playing one hand at a time to build core skills which will be accessible to elementary students. However, this is not a beginning harp course and you should at least feel comfortable playing with all four fingers on each hand.
No problem! Every class will be recorded and you'll have unlimited access to all replays.
You'll have unlimited, lifetime access to the recordings, so you can rewatch the sessions whenever you like.
Absolutely! The goal of this workshop is to speed up your connection from what you see on the page to where you play on the strings, including recognizing patterns so you can read more than one note at a time. We do this by working through short, simple exercises that are easy enough to digest, and create a foundation that will serve you at all levels of playing.
When you no longer have to slowly interpret one note at a time and wait for the music to memorize itself, you will learn music much faster.
Yes. Each Zoom session includes time for questions, and the small class size ensures each student will have the opportunity for help and clarification as needed.
