FUNDAMENTAL EXERCISES FOR THE HARP, VOLUME 3

CA$8.99

Fundamental Exercises for the Harp, Volume 3 by Samantha Ballard is a technical exercise book for harpists, teachers, and students alike. This ebook is meant to be a resource detailing basic patterns in music - namely, scales, 4 note chords, and arpeggios - in various keys and with fingerings, brackets, and pedal & lever settings written out. Volume 3 includes partial fingerings; for complete fingerings see Volume 2.

By becoming fluent with these exercises, students will be better prepared when encountering similar patterns in music, gain familiarity with keys and key signatures, learn about chords to prepare for playing with lead sheets, and gain helpful context for learning about music theory.

Exercises in this volume:

Scales (major, harmonic minor) - three octaves, hands together.

Scales (melodic minor) - three octaves, hands separately.

Four note chords - major/minor and dominant/diminished sevenths. One octave, hands together.

Arpeggios - Major/minor: 5 octaves or 4 for smaller harps. Dominant/diminished sevenths 4 octaves.

Range: most exercises will fit on a 36-string harp; any exercises which are too big for a particular harp may be modified to a smaller range.

Key included in this volume: C, G, D, A, E, F, B flat, and E flat major; A, E, B, F#, C#, D, G, and C minor.

The keys used are playable on lever harps tuned in the key of E♭ with a full set of levers, with the exception of some exercises in the keys of B, F#, and C# minor. Lever harp adaptations for these keys are included.

File format: PDF, 43 pages.
